đ Baked Honey Pears | Warm, Sweet & Low-Histamine
A treat for the soul on cool evenings! When the pear slowly softens in the oven and caramelizes with the honey, it creates an aroma that makes you happy. Completely free of industrial sugar and absolutely safe for your histamine levels.
Pears are a true staple in low-histamine cooking. According to the SIGHI list (Level 0), they are highly tolerated and provide valuable fiber. In this recipe, we combine them with the enzymatic power of honey and the crunch of pistachios or pumpkin seeds. Itâs the perfect “Thriving” dessert: elegant enough for guests but simple enough for a cozy weeknight.
Ingredients
2 large Organic Pears: (e.g., Abate Fetel or Conference, ripe but firm, SIGHI 0).
2 tbsp Organic Honey: (We recommend the incomparable Forever Bee Honey⢠* ).
1/2 tsp Vanilla Seeds: (Real vanilla is SIGHI 0).
2 tbsp chopped Pistachios: (Based on individual tolerance, SIGHI 0) or Pumpkin Seeds (SIGHI 0).
1 tbsp Organic Olive Oil or Butter: (SIGHI 0).
A few fresh mint leaves: (Optional for garnish).
Preparation
Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Lightly grease a small baking dish.
Halve: Wash the pears, cut them in half lengthwise, and carefully scoop out the core with a spoon.
Marinate: Briefly warm the honey (if solid) and whisk with the vanilla seeds and olive oil.
Coat: Place the pear halves cut-side up in the dish and generously brush with the honey-vanilla mixture.
Bake: Bake for about 20â25 minutes until the pears are tender and the honey is bubbling slightly.
Topping: About 5 minutes before the end of baking, sprinkle the pistachios or pumpkin seeds on top so they get lightly toasted.
Serve: Enjoy while warm!
