🥥 Macadamia Date Energy Balls | Natural Energy & Low Histamine

When you’re feeling peckish, these energy balls are the perfect solution. The creamy texture of macadamia nuts meets the natural sweetness of dates. They’re quick to make, keep for a long time in the refrigerator, and are the ideal snack for on the go, at the office, or after exercise.

Looking for a snack that wakes you up but is gentle on your gut? Many energy bars contain chocolate, high-histamine nuts (like walnuts), or artificial sweeteners. Our Energy Balls feature the macadamia nut—the “Queen of Nuts”—which is highly tolerated according to the SIGHI list (Level 0). Combined with fiber-rich dates and a touch of honey, they are the ultimate low-histamine hack.

Ingredients

  • 5.3 oz (150g) Raw Macadamia Nuts: (Unsalted, SIGHI 0).

  • 3.5 oz (100g) Dried Dates: (Unsulfured, SIGHI 0).

  • 2 tbsp Shelled Hemp Seeds: For extra protein and Omega-3.

  • 1 pinch Sea Salt: To balance the sweetness.

  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cardamom: To aid digestion.

  • Happy Hista Extra: 1 tsp Forever Bee Honey™ * for the perfect texture.

  • Optional: Shredded coconut for rolling.

Preparation

  1. Prep: If the dates are very firm, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain well.

  2. Chop: Pulse the macadamia nuts in a food processor until coarsely chopped (don’t over-process into nut butter!).

  3. Mix: Add dates, hemp seeds, salt, cardamom, and the Forever Bee Honey™ *. Blend until a sticky, moldable dough forms.

  4. Roll: Use your hands to roll about 12-15 bite-sized balls.

  5. Finish: Optionally, roll the balls in shredded coconut or extra hemp seeds.

  6. Chill: Let them firm up in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Product Recommendation

We use Forever Bee Honey™ *  in this recipe. As a pure natural product from pristine highlands, it provides valuable enzymes and a depth of flavor that complements the macadamias perfectly. Just one teaspoon helps bind the balls and elevates the entire snack.

Why this Recipe is Low-Histamine Friendly

  • Macadamia: One of the safest nuts for those with histamine intolerance.

  • Dates: Well-tolerated (SIGHI 0) and a great substitute for processed sugar.

  • Hemp Seeds: A safe protein source free from problematic biogenic amines.

  • Cardamom: Soothes the stomach and is usually much better tolerated than cinnamon.
